Sealaska Lands Manager Reappointed to State Big Game Board

Sealaska Lands Manager Michele Metz has been reappointed to the State of Alaska’s Big Game Commercial Services Board. Governor Sean Parnell first appointed Metz to the stateboard in 2012. He reappointed her in February 2014 to a 4-year term.

The Big Game Commercial Services Board adopts regulations governing the big game commercial service industry in Alaska. The board includes two licensed registered guide-outfitters, two licensed transporters, two private landholders, two public members, and one member from the Board of Game. Metz is appointed as a private landholder.

“I look forward to serving on this state board on behalf of Sealaska,” said Metz. “Sealaska could benefit by learning about the big game commercial guide industry and help form the regulations that govern it. There is also the possibility of learning how Sealaska shareholders may engage in the industry or employment opportunities to support guides.”

Michele Metz is Tlingit and her family is from Hoonah, Alaska. She is the Sealaska lands manager and has worked at Sealaska since 2002.
