The 2014 Sealaska annual report was mailed to shareholders on May 8, 2015. The annual report provides shareholders the independently audited financial statements for the previous year. For 2014 Sealaska is reporting $14.9 million in net income.
Today’s leaders are forging a new path guided by a strong mission and the teachings of our ancestors. Every day, we strive to create a better life for our shareholders and the communities we call home.
The goals of Sealaska may vary over time, but our values are the same, forming a continuum through time from our respected past leaders to present day.
There is much to reflect on this year in terms of charting a new course amongst obstacles. We are restructuring Sealaska to be more nimble, and recalculating our goals for success. Ultimately, we are building momentum, as we take strategic and thoughtful steps to steady Sealaska for the future.
Along the way, we have milestones to celebrate. After 40 years of fighting for ownership of our lands, finally, the promise has been fulfilled. In December 2014, Congressional action returned a small portion of our traditional homelands to Native ownership.
The theme of the 2014 annual report is On The Path. Sealaska’s purpose is to strengthen people, culture and homelands.
