It’s Up to You! #2020Census

IT IS UP TO YOU TO MAKE SURE YOUR COMMUNITY GETS A FAIR SHARE OF FEDERAL FUNDING – FILL OUT THE 2020 CENSUS

Every 10 years the U.S. Census Bureau conducts a count of every person living in the United States. The data collected through the census count determines a variety of federal funding and programs. An accurate count determines federal funding directed to tribal governments in Southeast Alaska and beyond. The results also determine how many seats in Congress each state gets.

The September 30 deadline to complete the 2020 census is fast approaching. Please take a few minutes to complete the online form.

How You Help Through an Accurate Census Count
Census data is used as the basis for distributing more than $800 billion in federal funds annually to states, boroughs and communities to support resources such as schools, hospitals and fire departments. State legislative districts and local political boundaries are redrawn using census data, and the data also informs business decisions, policy, community initiatives and consumer advocacy. The ANCSA Regional Association (ARA), a collection of leadership from the Alaska Native corporations, estimates $3.2 billion of federal dollars directed to Alaska could be at stake, if an accurate count does not take place. Visit ARA census page to learn more.
